Zell Am See

Greetings, with the wedding over and the bride and Groom happily wed,  our third day in Austria brought us into the tourist phase of this trip. One thing is for sure, Austria never has a shortage of awesome spectacle and beauty, to prove the point, we went to Zell Am See to take a boat tour of Lake Zell on a really neat boat called the Kaiserin Elisabeth which was exactly like a boat used in the 1971 James Bond Movie "Diamonds Are Forever". I found that movie connections particularly intriguing, and though not luxurious, she wasn't without amenities. They provided a refreshment service, with beer, wine, soda pop, and fresh med expresso and I of course partook of the espresso, which was ideal on such a nice cool day.

I'm getting a little ahead of myself, as our first stop in Zell Am See was a really nice little konditorei called The Beach Club, which I will share more about under "Eats".

But I'm sure those following this blog are far more interested in beautiful Lake Zell, which is surrounded by some of Austria's magnificent mountains.

The last few pictures are of a beautiful old Church we had the opportunity to see while there.

We also took the opportunity to have dinner at a really nice restaurant called the Villa Crazy Daisy, but on it can be found under the Eats tab.

  1. Great Photos! So green with lovely views. It looks, like the hill sides are being dotted with more and more houses. The boat is very interesting. I can see why they would have use it in a movie. Enjoy you last full day in Austria!!! See you at home:)
