The Eagle's Nest

Our fourth day was spent on an all-day bus tour that took us to several locations, the first was The Kehlsteinhaus, also known as The Eagle's Nest in Germany. The building itself wasn't all that impressive, but being that it was situated on top of a mountain that is 6017 feet high, it had the most spectacular views. Were fortunate enough to make it to the top just before it got so overcast that you couldn't see anything. I was able to get a number of really nice pictures, ahead of the cloud whiteout. I was also surprised to find out that The Kehlsteinhaus wasn't intended to be a residence, but a place to hold meetings with important officials and so only the guards had rooms and were the only persons to stay overnight.
